Three Pears, Oil, 8" x 6"
I am still exhausted ... stayed up until 3:00 am working on the costumes for the middle school play but they are done! Yippee! I was tired and thought I would try something a bit different. I like the colors in this one. Very loose style and I used a larger palette knife on this one. I think I am done with "still life" and will be back to land and seascapes next week!
I too, like the colors. It seems as though the pears are peering around each other, looking back at the viewer. A really fun piece! Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful! I really loved your apple painting too.
ReplyDeleteI like this, Leslie! Love the chunky abstractness and the light, especially on that second pear. Great adventure outside of the box.
ReplyDeleteAre you saying that you painted this at 3 in the morning? Wow! I salute your commitment.
ReplyDeleteAnd this is a really fun painting. So free and energetic! very creative.
Friendship-Pears-Row!
ReplyDeleteHonestly, Leslie... I just don't know HOW you do so much.
ReplyDeleteI like this little monochromatic pear piece... FUN!!
Trish, Jane, Julie and Rudhi - I like the colrs too. They are bright though ... you can tell that I was VERY tired when I painted this one!
ReplyDeletePeter and Marina,
ReplyDeleteI know that I am crazy and I need to "say no" when it comes to volunteering ... that is my new motto ... just say no!
I REALLY like the colors in this one. Very nice painting. If your costumes turn out so well you will be the town celebrity.
ReplyDeleteYour knife work adds excitement and life to these pears. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi Leslie,
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog recently. I've thoroughly enjoyed browsing your blog... your paintings are a real eye opener. The things you do with a palette knife! I love the looseness and rich color in your art. Beautiful!
This is fabulous Leslie - those colours are so rich and fruity and ... scrumptious!
ReplyDeletewow love this too! I like the cool composition and the values of the pears --they are closer together forming a dominant value with that magical smidge of light value!
ReplyDeleteThis just wonderful. Agreeing with the rest here, love the colors!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone, too...great colors. I like that you went 'out of the box' into monochrome here.
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats on getting all the sewing done!
:)
Gosh, Leslie! Congrats on getting the costumes done. You are remarkable. Love these pears. They make me hungry--must be the colors!
ReplyDeleteLeslie!
ReplyDeleteI love painting pears and I love pear paintings!
The most stunning part of this still life is the color. Monochromatic, yet loaded in various shades of pink.
Very eye-catching!
