"All Things Nice"
Oil, 6" x 6"
"What are little boys made of?
Snips and snails, and puppy dogs tails
That's what little boys are made of !"
What are little girls made of?
"Sugar and spice and all things nice
That's what little girls are made of!"
As a mother of three boys, I totally get this ... but I think the few lines can be re-written depending on your own experiences! Anybody want to give it a try?
Cute! And it would be the perfect baby gift. I too, would not know what it's like to have girls, only testosterone in our house with the exception of Me and Ella the cat.
ReplyDeletePINK!! I am unashamed to admit that I have fallen victim to gender stereotypes, because pink is my favorite color!! Lovely, bold painting Leslie.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm the only girl here too, a mother of three boys as well. :) Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Leslie,
ReplyDeleteLove this- I have 2 daughters myself and like pink but this immediately made me think of Breast Cancer and women with all the rich shades of soft pink to strong reds. This is my favorite in the present/gift boxes series. Very special and beautifully done.
Happy Thanksgiving to all.
Very 'Pretty In Pink", Leslie. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteThis is a favorite one--you do packages so well--must be the kid in you that loves all the mystery of the gift giving..:)) Perfect in Pink!
This is my fav. of your gift series! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHaving a little boy of 5 myself...
What are little boys made of?
Leaps and bounds and really loud sounds.
That's what little boys are made of.
Bold and beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have used basically only two tubes - white and red - and created even stronger visual statement than one with a full range of a rainbow, not to mention that I believe you have used just a paint knife, not a single brush!
I can see a lot of confidence in this painting. And I really admire it.
I was just surfing around and got this post. I must say it was really very interesting post. I found your blog very nice and that's why I have saved it for the future visits.
