This is the first painting I have completed in a while ... too busy with the holidays but it was fun to be back at the easel.

ReplyDeleteI would love for you to talk about varnishing on our radio show. To varnish or not to varnish oil paintings? What kind of varnish is best. How long do you have to wait before varnishing? How can you varnish a painting that is finished last minute for a show or send to a gallery??

ReplyDeleteI would really like you both to discuss mailing lists .... in-depth. How you start, where you keep the lists, how your organize your list, when you use your list. I've read books on this subject and its still confusing to me. I can't be the only one ... can I?
Your painting is great. I must agree with Dreama, cooking for so many and painting go together for you.
How about discussing if you use photographs to paint from or do you use them for inspiration. Just all the possible ways you feel photography comes into play.

I would love to hear a show about what artists felt made the biggest difference in getting better as artists/how they got better/what did they do- classes, workshops, books, studies, value studies daily, etc...

Love your new painting! It's beautiful! I would love a show on the nuts and bolts of being your own business. Are you an LLC? When do you have to start worrying about claiming sales on taxes, details about like sales tax on paypal, imagekind, etc. All the ucky stuff. You and Dreama could reflect on your own stories, your first sales and your journey. Also would love another studio tips show. A show on inspirations would be great also, who are your biggest inspirations when it comes to your painting, how did you decide to do palette knife painting? Favorite artists, color schemes and paintings. Could have people write in their favorites also, so good to learn about artists I haven't been exposed too.
