Being Happy - SOLD

"Whistler II"
Oil, 6" x 8"
$350.00 framed.
OK ... confession time. These past two days I have basically hung around the house with my boys in my sweats for pretty much the entire weekend. I am in heaven. When my three sons are back home together ... just hanging out ... I feel complete. And I am reminded why I am here on this planet ... to be a good mother. It's pretty simple.
So my role this weekend was to cook good food (or take my boys out for good food as was the case last night), and just sit around and love every minute watching my three boys interact. Today we spent hours as they tried to "modernize" my itunes music collection. I do have 23 new downloads that will definitely bring my "workout playlist" into the 21st century. Unfortunately my oldest refused to go through the play list of songs from Glee, so that task ended sooner than I had hoped. We have also watched a lot of basketball ... and for those of you that don't know ... I love sports ... hah!
Finally, our golden retreiver Speffy is actually showing a little bit of improvement. I think the pain pills are helping as occasionally she will actually stand up and limp around a bit. The boys claim she is "higher than a kite" but we're happy if she's happy. I mean really ... isn't that what life is about?

  1. Awh Leslie, You have been on my mind! I am so glad to hear Speffy is rallying- that is wonderful news. Also, yes on everything you said about what is important in life and so glad you had wonderful mother/son time. Sounds like "Being Happy" is the place to be! Wonderful painting and awesome post.

  3. I am so glad you are doing what you love most. We can wait to see the fruits of what you accomplish when those loves have gone back to school. In the meantime.... Don't wash away in all of the rain... I'm looking out my window now and it's a virtual white-out! (no snow... just sheets of water.)

  4. Love this painting and so glad Speffy is better. Am going to D.C. this week-end with my daughter and two grandsons to participate in a hundred portraits in a hundred days by Jill Banks. She will paint each one of us. Check out her web site. Spending time with family doing what you love is so special.

    gros bisous

  8. I love your paintings. I don't remember any more how I found you, but I have added you to my blog list. I hope you don't mind.
I also love that you have expressed exactly what I feel when my children are around. It can be when only 2 are together, or all 4 at once, but I love to witness their interactions-

  10. I know what you mean about being complete when your kids are home. This is my daughter's first year in college and I haven't felt complete all year. I was born to be her mom and now have to find another purpose! :) Take care, Jennifer
