Lakeside Setting

"Lakeside Setting"
Oil, 11" x 14" on canvas panel

I know you are surprised to see an oil painting on my blog. I have been accused of abandoning  my realism paintings for abstracts. Now you know it's not true. Rather, I am enjoying painting both!

I did take a week off from blogging. January was a busy month and I just needed some time to catch up and get organized. I am working on a few commissions and I have been spending about four hours a day marketing my new abstract paintings. I have an entirely new plan and it has been so much fun. The response has been great and I am really encouraged. The only issue is I need more inventory. So tomorrow I am painting abstracts.

Check out my 2015 workshop schedule! I am coming to Cape Cod, Atlanta, Charlotte and Richmond in 2015! Plus you can paint and stay with me in Ventura, CA at the beach house. Click here for more information! I am offering Online Studio painting classes every month. Join me each month as we paint boats, roosters, glass, beach scenes, umbrellas, etc. with a palette knife. Your work is truly beautiful! I wanted to thank you for your 30 days of art. It inspired me to start doing art again after a gap. I'm only currently using my iPad to draw, but for now I'm happy with that. I still draw on almost a daily basis. I hope to make small prints of what I've done and decorate a wall of my husband's office. So, thanks, again! Jerri
