Canadian Pride

"Canadian Pride"
Oil, 6" x 6" on canvas panel.

I posted an "abstract painting" a few hours ago and then decided to give it another try. I like this one a lot better so I re-posted the newer painting. I love the Olympics and I am not sure what I will paint next week ... I guess I am looking for ideas!

Leslie: As a Canadian and American, I can't help but love this piece! Nice touch to just show the Stripes off to the left.

This is great Leslie! And as for curling - well who knows, but then, as a non-American, I can't figure out why ice hockey is an Olympic sport! Loved the painting by the way.

Leslie, I am enjoying all of your Olympic paintings and your exuberance with the games. I wondered if you were a displaced Canadian upon seeing our flag, but knew you weren't after reading your concerns about curling...ha! Wish I could make a case to clear it all up for you. There have been some great moments throughout the games though, don't you think?

Vern,
Let’s just say I am an American who is a huge fan of Canada! The local newspapers here in Los Angeles have printed countless stories about the Canadians and their kindness during the games. Just makes me proud to be your neighbor to the south! I love the Olympics and Vancouver has been amazing. Good luck in the hockey game today. I am sure every TV in Canada will have it on!

Leslie, I too have been enjoying your art and the Olympics on tv. As a Canadian, it's been and emotional roller coaster. We were so excited that the our men's hockey won the gold!! I've been inspired to do a little Olympic themed painting, too.
