Atlanta Workshop - Day One

We just completed the first day of our Atlanta workshop and it was wonderful! We have 24 amazing students, all with different backgrounds and levels of painting experience. It is an incredibly fun group and the creative energy in the room today was powerful. There is an incredible feeling of camaraderie and it really does feel as I have known everyone in this workshop for a very long time!
Dreama was "on stage" today and she did an amazing demonstration using her transparent oils technique. Her colors are luscious and I think her demo painting is divine. I am really impressed with all of the paintings that were completed in the class today. I promise to post photos of them tomorrow ... we just ran short of time ...
After class Dreama and I raced back to my brothers house and cooked dinner for everyone. The dinner was good (if I do say so myself) and while enjoying fresh berry cobbler we discussed workshop expectations, experiences, color mixing and selection and selling your art. It was great to just sit around and chat and listen to all of the wonderful comments shared by everyone in the class.
Tomorrow I am the "demo-er" so I better try to get some shut eye. We have another dinner to cook tomorrow night!

The Atlanta workshop is all that and more and that was just day one! I just knew this would be the workshop to be at and Dreama and Leslie are wonderful. Amazing group of artists with a positive energy and fun joyful spirit here to learn and share.

Ditto what Kathy said - and I'd just like to add that these girls are definitely a Dynamic Duo. Their energy, confidence, and solid knowledge base are making this a tremendous workshop! And... really, what a great group!

Ok...I have just finished this incredible workshop...If you are within reach of this work shop....TAKE IT! It's going to take me a very long time to assimilate everything I learned. New techniques, new tools, new paint colors on my palette, new teaching techniques and more...made all the more memorable by great food and awesome instructors. Can you tell I'm pumped????

This workshop is a mirror image of the one I took in CA but even better for me, because it was closer to home in SC. And I learned new and wonderful painting tips, had a grand reunion with Leslie and Dreama, got to meet and dine with Leslie's great Atlanta family, and shared rides, tears, laughter, and food with many new friends and a special old friend of many years.
