After flying 12 hours to Paris, we checked in to our hotel and went directly to the Eiffel tower to take a four hour bike tour of the city. It was wonderful, and served as a great way to deal with jet lag and no sleep! Our guide explained to us that there was a competition to determine the design for what eventually became the Eiffel Tower. Would you believe second place was a guillotine? Now that would have been a weird Paris landmark!

I am finally back at my easel after spending the last week getting organized. Sorry to be gone so long!

One of the great things about family reunions is the one on one time with my nieces and nephews. I painted this one with my two nieces nearby. I have just been informed by my niece Lindsay (age 8) that I actually do not paint with a palette knife, rather I paint with "a mini pie cutter". My niece Erin also provided a lot of advice while I was painting and she (and her dad) actually helped me name the painting. I have a good feeling that tomorrow the three of us will each be completing a painting. I can't wait! And I promise to post them all!

We are leaving for our family reunion in Atlanta tomorrow (actually we are going to a wonderful lake about two hours outside of Atlanta) and I still am not packed. I had a list of 23 things to complete 21 are done. Just need to send out the Avon Breast cancer walk party invites and a few school things and then I can start packing Looks like I will be sleeping on the plane ...
I really hope that I can spend a lot of time painting while on vacation. I am taking my paints (packing them is number 23 on the list) so I should be able to get a lot done! So you can expect daily blogs too.
