The 12 Days of Christmas - Day 4

Wow ... it's been wonderful reading about all of the artists that inspired so many of you. There are a lot of artists mentioned that I know very well. And I love the fact there are so many others that I do not know. Clicking on the links of all of the artists is like Christmas! I can't wait to spend more time following the links and getting to know many of these new names. Thanks so much for sharing!

The winner of the Day Three Giveaway which is a webinARTS month long class is Lynette Smith. Email me your contact information and I will get you all signed up for the April 2014 class!

Today's giveaway is a free one hour marketing consultation. (The value is $250!). It's easy to become eligible for the giveaway. All you have to do is leave a suggestion here (or on my Facebook page) of a topic for the Artists Helping Artists radio show! Every month I struggle to come up with topics for the show so your input would be greatly appreciated!

Check out my new remodel blog for our new beach house in Ventura, Ca. I am now teaching workshops at the beach. Come stay and paint with me! I love your show and get a lot of insight out of it every week! Thank you for doing this for us! A lot of artist don't have the time to devote to painting, many of us have other jobs, young children etc...maybe a discussion on how to better organize our time in order to find time to paint...also love your artist interviews!

I suggest a show on Plagiarism and/or copying work from things posted on the internet. And what to do if a corporations is marketing your art without your permission. This is becoming more and more common.

I think a show about YOU, Leslie, would be really fun, you could have someone interview you with questions about how you got started paintimg, when in your career did you stsArt with social media, and how did that change things? How is you balance between art, teaching, social media, etc? How you juggle it all each day...inspiration for all of us!

Leslie, I never miss an installment of Artists Helping Artists. One thing that really impresses me about the show and you as an artist is the positive, uplifting support you offer to artists. I wish all artists would band together and uplift each other. There are potentially enough sales to support all of us.

I'm also trying to figure out the whole licensing game. Could use some help with that.

Also, to frame or not to frame?

Keep up the good work!

Susan

Hey Leslie! AHA is fabulous. Thanks to you and your co-hosts for all your work!
Show suggestion: How to make a presentation to a gallery for an installation of work- does anyone use a hard bound portfolio anymore? Should everything be online/digital? How to get your work in a museum- presentation differences? Themes? When is an artist ready for a museum show?
Many thanks for your 12 days of Christmas give-away!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Kind regards, Nicci artNSV.com

Have you done a show on abstracts? I have never understood how to paint one?!.. I put a comment on Facebook also, I really would love to hear what drives you, I know you love marketing, what drives you forward in the tuff times. You seem to love life and not hesitate to go forward :). Hugs!

TOPIC: What is a "real" or "professional" artist? Does it have to do with selling your art or merely creating art? Lots of people feel they are not a "real" artist. I don't understand what that means.

How about a show on organizing your studio? With some ideas on large and small studio's on the cheap. I keep my studio somewhat organized but would love ideas as to eliminate more clutter.

I, like Kim, would like to hear a show on you.

Leslie, I love your show and especially the artist interviews. I would love to hear about a subject near and dear to your heart, palette knife painting. I would like to hear about how different knives are used and your story about why you chose the knife over brushes.

Thank you for all your hard work!!
I would like on how to talk about your work. I realized that as the painter, I often view the work differently than the viewer. So much of it is about the process. How do you come up with your" elevator speech" to hopeful get someone's attention?

Hi, how about a show on Tictail sites (maybe this would only take up a part of a show) I have just set mine up and I am quite impressed, best of all it is your (and my) favourite price - free! Keep up the great work, loving your co-hosts too!
