I loved all of the posts today highlighting all your art successes this year. It's so great to read all of the great accomplishments so many of you have achieved. And, hopefully most of you have figured out that taking the time to think about your year to recognize your accomplishments is a great experience. I hope you enjoyed the process!

Thank you again for helping us with the marketing area of art. I attended art college and always believe that marketing and business courses should be included in the curriculum. I need help with everything but I guess to narrow it with my website. It is a lot to manage alone.

For the past 3 1/2 years, I have been a full-time, self-employed artists and I am thinking about marketing even when I sleep. I also have an MBA in Marketing with 20 years experience marketing high-end healthcare services. Marketing Art is not like ANYTHING I've ever done before or ANYTHING I was taught in school. It's like I'm completely starting my career over, and trying to figure it all out as I go.

I have success with Daily Paintworks, Ebay, and Art shows. I have never sold anything from my FASO Website, though I still feel like I need it. I have never sold anything from my monthly newsletter, and gallery sales are very, very slow. In fact, I've been in one gallery in Nashville for 2 years and never sold anything. I"m thinking about pulling out of galleries altogether. Commission business is steady, which is a blessing. But if it weren't for teaching art, I would not be able to make ends meet.

What is the "je ne sais quoi" that makes one painting sell and not another?? I feel a little lost here trying to figure it out and I so much appreciate you (& Dreama back in the day) as a weekly shot of encouragement and inspiration to keep plugging away at this crazy lifestyle that has chosen me.

Having already benefitted from a marketing session with you, I would love to win this! I still need a good website plan. I would like to get into a bigger gallery. I also would like to put my finger on pricing. And using Twitter! You're a doll, and your 12 Days are fabulous!

I think I am most curious about getting into a gallery or two, or a show, and which is a better avenue to start with. I work full time and have a family so I fit painting in during the wee hours of the morning and have trouble with time to market my work, and paint! Maybe help with the balance of what things are the very most important to do on a limited time budget…Thanks for all of your inspiration Leslie!

I would say pricing. I see prices online that run the gamut, from high to low, for similar work. I get that a well known artist may command more $$. But then I see work of the same size and similar complexity by well known artists with prices that vary a great deal. What's a struggling artist to do?
