After A Long Day

"After A Long Day"
Oil, 6" x 6" on canvas panel.
$200 unframed.

I really like the bright blue paint that I mixed up for yesterday's painting so I decided to mix up some more! There's something about the dark contrast that really brings out the reds in the boat's reflections.
I am painting larger paintings next week so it is fun to try the different color combinations. We are so lucky as artists ... that we have the liberty to paint whatever we want!

Now...this is a "boy" painting...not to bring up that discussion again, but that was my first thought when i saw it. Maybe its that denim blue... I like it!

Oh this is gorgeous! Those saturated colors sing to me - I love it!

A note about the comment above... depends on the boy (and girl!) These are definitely my colors. My husband prefers muted, misty tones...

Love your use of really strong color in this. That red is so gorgeous next to the blue.

May I please just say 'WOW!' Maybe it is the intense color, or my love of the water, but looking at this caused a visceral reaction that made my skin tingle. This is an absolute stunner.
