Eight Down and Twenty Four To Go ...

In case you missed yesterday's post, I have decided to paint thirty two 6" x 6" paintings as party favors for my 50th birthday dinner this Saturday night. Unfortunately I didn't decide to do this until last night so I am doing a "Marc Hanson" and have embarked on a painting marathon!
So far, so good. I have not yet turned into the mad woman with the knife (palette knife that is) but I am sure I will be by Friday ... I have finished eight of the thirty two and I hope to finish four more tonight. My middle son has a CIF baseball playoff game this afternoon so that will take a few hours but hopefully I will have the energy this evening ... keep your fingers crossed!
I will post two of my marathon boat paintings a day and here are the first two ...

Wasn't it you who said that your mom called you a glutton for punishment? She is a woman of truth.

Only you...

You're a greased machine, Leslie!
Now I'm worrying about the paintings being dry on time!

You guys are all so sweet to give me so many wonderful words of encouragement. I promise I won't bee too tired for the party ... my husband rented one of my favorite restaurants here in Pasadena for the evening so it should be fun! I can't wait to see if my friends like the paintings. If they don't I will keep them for sure!
I just finished #17 so gotta go back to my studio. The one funny thing is ... I probably won't paint boats again for a while ...
