Funny Face

Rooster Face, Oil 8" x 6"
Sold.
I have been painting roosters the past few days for my show at Gale's Restaurant and I couldn't resist this view ... I don't know if I will include this one in the show ... it's pretty funny looking!
Thanks to all of you for asking about my son's swim meet this weekend. He was amazing and made us very proud parents. He broke two records, including a 28 year old record in the 200 freestyle! Yippee!
Finally, I promised to let you know how long it took me to paint the Rose painting from my post on Saturday. Your estimates ranged from twenty minutes to a "lifetime" ... The painting, from start to finish took 32 minutes. Usually it takes me a few hours, so this was unusual. Must have been all that fast swimming I was watching all weekend ...

I think he's wonderful! He looks rebellious with his mohawk and serious expression. The green background contrasts well with the warm colors on the rooster too.

Great tips about the newsletter. You are the first artist to blog about following Clint's advice and having success that I've read so far. And I'm totally with Clint on the thank you note issue but then I believe good manners are always a good idea.

Leslie... I'm curious... Did you paint the roosters because Gale asked for a series or just because you felt like it.

I think they are strange and wonderful!!

Well it appears that Karen and I will have to share the prize, both guessing 12 min. on either side of the correct time. There was a prize, right?
My ears perked up to hear your last name when I heard the news of a recent swimming record being broken, but it turned out to be Olympic guys.
